About kpopdropz

An independent fan-run guide based in Seoul. We map K-pop merchandise, photocards, and Korea-only releases for global fans.

kpopdropz is built on a simple premise: K-pop's deepest merch territory — Lucky Draws, 미공포 photocards, fansign goods — sits behind a Korea-only access wall. Our job is to be a clear English-language guide across that wall.

We are not affiliated with any agency. We earn revenue through affiliate links to trusted shops and (in later stages) a paid proxy service.

What we cover

kpopdropz is a structured catalog of K-pop releases, artists, members, photocards, music videos, and tour activity, plus the buying and authentication context that international fans need when navigating the Korean K-pop market. The core of the site is a curated dataset: every artist page is built from a tiered framework of fandom depth and release activity, every album page is anchored to release-date metadata and version structure, and every photocard guide is built from the standard K-pop release distribution channels (standard album cards, retailer pre-order benefits, Korea-only Lucky Draw cards, fansign and event cards).

The site also includes long-form guides on topics that matter specifically to international K-pop collectors: where to buy albums and photocards (Ktown4u, Music Plant, Weverse Shop, Soundwave, and Korean offline shops), how to authenticate photocards before a high-value secondary-market purchase, how Lucky Draw events work in Korean offline shops, and how Korea-only event windows like fansigns, pop-up stores, and mikongpo (미공포 — un-released photocards) cycle through the release calendar. Every guide is written from the perspective of someone outside Korea trying to access these markets without making expensive beginner mistakes.

How the site is sourced

Discography, member, and tour data is curated from public sources: agency announcements, official artist channels, publicly available wikis, and primary reporting from Korean and international K-pop media. Photocard catalog structure is derived from published release inserts, retailer pre-order pages, and consensus collector documentation. Pricing context is drawn from observable secondary- market activity on Bunjang, Mercari, X (Twitter) #포카거래 channels, and eBay; all price ranges shown on the site are clearly labeled as estimates and should be cross-referenced against live listings before any meaningful transaction.

We do not republish copyrighted lyrics, full music videos, or agency-owned photo assets. Music videos are embedded directly from the original YouTube uploads via the official artist or agency channels, with copyright explicitly attributed to the original uploader on every video page. Album cover art and member photos are used under fair-use editorial framing for the purpose of identifying the catalog item being discussed.

Editorial principles

kpopdropz aims for three editorial principles. First, factual accuracy over speculation: claims about release dates, version counts, member information, and chart performance are tied to verifiable sources, and where data is uncertain we say so explicitly rather than fabricating a definitive number. Second, collector usefulness over generic K-pop journalism: every page is designed to answer a specific question a collector or fan might bring to the site, from "how many photocards are in this album" to "is this fansign card likely authentic." Third, transparency about commerce: affiliate links are disclosed on every product reference, the affiliate-disclosure page lists active partner relationships, and we never accept payment to alter editorial coverage.

If you spot a factual error or have feedback on how a page should be structured, write to contact@kpopdropz.com. For copyright, takedown, or privacy concerns, use legal@kpopdropz.com. We respond to substantiated requests within seven business days; the legal page on this site documents our IP takedown and privacy procedures in detail.
